Loan Protection: BOE report does 'not give answers' over the economy

The latest Bank of England's (BoE) report on the state of the UK's finances has failed to provide definitive answers on the economy, it has been claimed.

Earlier this week (November 10th), the BoE published its Quarterly Inflation Report which warned of an uncertain economic outlook for the British financial system.

Michael Baxter, editor of financial website, claimed that the report provided little indication of the future prospects for the British economy.

He said: "I don't think there were any surprises [in the report]. It seems to be that the BoE isn't quite sure.

"It seems to be pretty much sort of saying [that] we could have inflation, we could have deflation, we're not quite sure really. In terms of QE (quantitative easing) it's neither ruled it out nor suggested that it's going to happen."

According to the report, there is a wider-than-usual range of views among Monetary Policy Committee members, with previous meetings showing a three-way split in voting.
