Bank charges: Santander, Lloyds and RBS 'worst for customer service'

Three banks have been named as having the worst customer service in a customer satisfaction survey.

Santander, Lloyds and RBS have been found to have the worst customer service of all credit card providers, reports

RBS was ranked the worst in overall satisfaction, interest rate charges and value for money.

However, Santander was ranked last in five separate categories, including customer support, online services and billing services.

Lloyds fell by two per cent for customer service compared to 2009, falling from 12th to 14th place.

Stefan Maryniak, personal finance expert at uSwitch, said: "Customer service is still letting the credit card companies down, especially amongst the high street banks, which provide some of the worst service in the market, despite some being government funded."

Amex and M&S were found to have the best customer service, with Amex going from third position in 2009 to first last year.
