Consumers who are having trouble paying their loan charges may be interested in how they can reduce their expenditures. Martin Bamford, chartered financial planner at Informed Choice, a family owned and managed firm of Chartered Financial Planners established in 1994, claims that it tends to be older people who notice the affects of inflation. He said: "Experiences of price inflation will differ depending on how you spend your household income on different goods and services. "The amount of your money spent on compulsory rather than discretionary expenditure will also make a big difference. There are ways to reduce expenditure in an inflationary environment, if you are prepared to change the nature of the things you purchase." Mr Bamford added that if you spend a lot of money on items that are increasing in price, such as fuel, then you will definitely be feeling strained financially. His comments come as the latest consumer price index figures revealed inflation in May was 4.5 per cent. Jennifer HainesJennifer's speciality knowledge is credit card changes and balance transfers.
