Bank refunds: Internet 'a great resource' for financial information

People looking into bank refunds may want to get online, as the internet is a good resource for financial matters, an expert has said.

Justin Modray, of financial website, explained that most simple financial matters can be researched on the World Wide Web.

He was asked where people can go to find out about different financial products available to them.

"Speaking to an independent financial adviser is an obvious route, although they're not always as independent as you'd imagine and can be expensive," he said.

"For more straightforward products such as savings accounts, credit cards and mortgages it's not too difficult to do your own research, the Internet is a great resource for most money matters."

His comments come as the Financial Services Consumer Panel launches its research on straightforward outcome products, in order to stimulate debate within the financial services industry.

The Panel claims that at present, many consumers find choosing financial products stressful and unrewarding.
