Bank charges: Advantages of vouchers 'numerous'

In order to avoid financial problems such as bank charges, millions of consumers in the UK are turning to vouchers.

According to Steven Sutton, content executive at, a discount website, the advantages of using vouchers are "numerous".

He revealed that around half a million vouchers are used in the UK every day.

"The consumer is able to browse through thousands of offers from a complete spectrum of companies with the aim of saving money," he said.

"Voucher codes are also beneficial for presenting you with offers you may not have considered. Essentially not only do voucher codes save you money but they also invite you to save money on future purchases."

Mr Sutton added that as well as the arrival of online savings, there has been a change in attitude towards voucher use.

He revealed that every UK adult is expected to take advantage of a voucher five times a month.
