PPI refunds: Parents being financially cautious when it comes to choice of holiday

PPI refunds could come in handy to parents that are currently looking to book their summer holiday or are preparing to go away.

This is because parents are exercising financial caution when it comes to their choice of holiday this year, Chrissie Lewandowski, partner at has said.

She said: "The recession is biting back and we've found that parents have been exercising financial caution in their choice of holiday - whilst this hasn't deterred families completely from overseas travel, they have been choosing the cheaper options - the easy 'bucket & spade' type Mediterranean holidays - over more expensive alternatives."

Parents looking to save money on their holiday could think about camping, Ms Lewandowski said.

She explained that prices for this type of holiday start at £30 for the family.

Her comments come as research by M&S Money revealed that 40 per cent of Brits do not budget properly for their holiday.
