PPI Claim: Jobs 'continue to go'

The uncertain economic future and tough current circumstances are leading to a large amount of redundancies. People may be struggling for a source of income and PPI refunds could come in handy.

Monthly figures from Credit Action revealed 1,775 people are being made redundant each day in the UK. The study also showed 849,000 have now been out of work for over a year so this could mean those newly redundant will be out of work for some time.

BAE Systems has been affected by economic pressures and recently made some large scale redundancies - cutting nearly 3,000 in total, with the majority concentrated in Yorkshire and Lancashire.

"We understand that this is a time of uncertainty for our employees and we are committed to working with them and their representatives to explore ways of mitigating the potential job losses," said Ian King, chief executive of BAE Systems.
