Bank claims: Stress 'makes it difficult to sleep'

People worrying about how they will pay off loan claims and meet deadlines for credit card charges can often find themselves struggling to sleep at night.

According to relaxation coach Andrew Johnson, members of the public are "bombarded with information" throughout the day.

Then, when they go to bed, they begin to deal with all of the issues they have not had a change to process, he continued.

As well as money, other common concerns and stressors involve children and health, the specialist remarked.

"It is as if all the thoughts that [people] should have been dealing with during the day are coming up," the expert explained.

He estimated that two-thirds of adults have some form of sleeping problem, stating: "The majority of people find it very, very difficult to relax."

Chartered psychologist and author of Think Yourself Happy Dr Rick Norris recently suggested large-scale economic woes could be causing the general populace to suffer from stress.
