Bank claims: Nationwide loan is 'lowest ever'

People looking to reduce their loan charges might benefit from the 5.8 per cent annual percentage rate (APR) representative offering launched by the Derbyshire Building Society.

This is the lowest rate ever offered by the Nationwide Group and is available for loan claims of between £7,500 and £14,999.

Money can be taken out for up to a maximum of five years and people can contact the bank online or through comparison websites to start borrowing the cash.

Nationwide head of personal loans Paul Wooton pointed out many people could be looking to make a "big purchase" at present.

Summer is frequently the time when Brits consider refurbishing their house, investing in a new car or "booking a dream holiday", he said.

"Since its launch earlier this year the Derbyshire personal loan has been a regular feature in best buy tables," the representative added.

The company pointed out that interest rates will be dependent on the personal circumstances of the borrower and all loans are subject to the status of the applicant, although this particular product does not involve any arrangement fees or upfront bank charges.
