Credit card charges: Npower customers to be hit by price hike next week

Brits who receive their gas and electricity from Npower will be hit by the company's price hikes from next week, boosting the average annual bill by £108.
Gas bills are set to go up by 8.8 per cent, while electricity is to rise by 9.1 per cent from Monday, November 26th, increasing the average household bill for a dual fuel Npower customer from £1,244 to £1,352.

Npower is the third of the big six energy suppliers to implement the price hike, which will leave it the fourth most expensive supplier after all initiate their price increases.

"The high cost of energy will not go unnoticed this winter. As warnings of sub-zero temperatures come together with a wave of price hikes, many households will be left struggling to keep their heads above water this Christmas," said Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at

She suggests that consumers do not take the price hikes "lying down" and instead move to a cheaper supplier, seeing as there is a £300 difference between the cheapest and most expensive tariff on the market. The extra cash could mean Brits have more to spend on utility bills and credit card charges.ADNFCR-2776-ID-801491105-ADNFCR
